Liberal media went crazy today, believing they had caught Sarah Huckabee Sanders in a lie.
American Urban Radios White House correspondent April Ryan was literally crowing with her accomplishment.
What did she think she had uncovered? What did she expose?
She thought she caught Sanders lying about baking a Thanksgiving Day pie.
Yup. That’s on what the White House correspondent was spending her time.
#Piegate erupted on social media when Sanders tweeted this out.
I️ dont cook much these days, but managed this Chocolate Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving at the family farm! pic.twitter.com/rO8nFxtly7
— Sarah Sanders (@PressSec) November 23, 2017
Ryan then demanded proof that Sanders had actually cooked it.
Show it to us on a table. https://t.co/ifeSBlSZW7

I am not trying to be funny but folks are already saying #piegate and #fakepie Show it to us on the table with folks eating it and a pic of you cooking it. I am getting the biggest laugh out of this. I am thankful for this laugh on Black Friday! https://t.co/ifeSBlSZW7
— AprilDRyan (@AprilDRyan) November 24, 2017
She then retweeted this liberal NY Daily News story about the pie controversy.
I am laughing so hard at this. I needed this laugh! https://t.co/I4Dx8Lejaq

Now, Ryan apparently didn’t bother to backtrack the photo or do anything like journalism to determine whether it was real, she just accused and went off on a rant.
Some found this link and thought that meant it was a stock photo from PBS.
But as Gizmodo notes:
But the thing is, pbs.twimg.com is just a subdomain that Twitter uses to host photos. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Public Broadcasting Service. The best evidence that Sanders is the original creator of the photo? If you do a reverse image search, it’s clear that Sanders was the first person to post that image to the internet.
Sanders sent a nice response back to Ryan.
Don’t worry @AprilDRyan because I’m nice I’ll bake one for you next week #RealPie #FakeNews 😉 https://t.co/5W3mGbKs4J

And her brother-in-law confirmed the pie.
Asked @PressSec’s daughter about #piegate. Claims pie was “made by Mom” and was “yummy”. Declined further comment as Paw Patrol was on.

But Ryan is still spreading the lie.
And she even tweeted about the movie Help pie, which contained excrement in it.
Now here is part two of the twitter feed. pic.twitter.com/X9QBAPyfqs

Okay I want to watch you bake it and put it on the table. But forgive I won’t eat it. Remember you guys don’t like the press. https://t.co/gcAt1Sl32i
— AprilDRyan (@AprilDRyan) November 25, 2017
Just send a photo of your pie on the Thanksgiving table on the farm! https://t.co/gcAt1Sl32i

Perhaps Ryan’s problem with objectivity has to do with being so close to people in the prior administration like puppet master, Valerie Jarrett.
Thank you my friend!!! https://t.co/Uhv8cixNbM

And that’s the real lesson of this story and a pretty good example of how they deal with news in general. Ryan and liberal media are so invested in attacking everything from what Melania Trump wears to the pies Sanders bakes, that even on Thanksgiving, they just can’t give it a rest and still have to spread fake news.
